Julia Moore is a born-and-raised Hoosier who is proud of her small town roots and even more proud to call Warsaw her home. Fueled by her passion of helping those around her, Julia Moore has been working at First Federal Savings Bank providing home loans for residents of Kosciusko County and the surrounding areas since 1995. In fact, you’ve probably seen her meeting clients at the Latte Lounge, 3 Crown or Martin’s Supermarket–Starbucks drink in hand–discussing the types of financing options available. She firmly believes in supporting the community that has supporter her over the years and loves the “Shop Local” mentality!

As an active member in the community, Julia Moore is a Board of Directors member with Kosciusko and Fulton County Builders Association, State of Indiana Builders Association, Rudy’s Dog Park and the Bailey R. Moore Foundation. While much of her time is dedicated to her clients and work, the Bailey R. Moore Foundation is near and dear to her heart, and was created in her daughter’s memory as a way to carry on her wishes of higher education after her passing. The Foundation offers scholarship opportunities to local Kosciusko County seniors and has continued to grow and expand since its creation in 2011. As a way to raise money for the organization, Moore often participates in community events to raise awareness of the Foundation and its endeavors–and even hosts an annual fashion show and luncheon that incorporates trendy local boutiques and apparel, as well as a silent auction and fun ‘ladies afternoon out’ atmosphere.

When she’s not meeting friends for dinner and drinks at her favorite restaurants, she can be found traveling to Indianapolis to spend time with her two daughters, Jaime and Taylor and their significant others.
The downtown dining scene has exploded in recent years. What bar/restaurant were you most excited to try when they first opened?
“The diversity between Oak & Alley, One Ten and RUA is something that I’d been hoping would come to Warsaw for a long time. Each of these restaurants offer its dinners such unique culinary experiences that can’t be found in chain restaurants. It would be hard to say which I was most excited about!”
When you’re considering somewhere to go for a specific dinner, what restaurants in the county top your wish list and why?
“Our small town is now bursting with a variety of restaurants that top my list! When meeting a large group, I typically opt for a restaurant like RUA with shareable small plates and amazing cocktails. For hearty, farm-to-table food, I head to One Ten where I can always be guaranteed a delicious meal and unique pairings. For great burgers and cocktails, I always head to Oak & Alley!”
Do you have a favorite dish? If so, where can we find it?
“Best filet in town can be found at One Ten, and I always get the dill sauce as and addition!
Hands down the best filet mignon can be found at One Ten–add the dill sauce and it’s perfection! Celery soup, famer’s cheese and bok choy are my go-to’s at RUA; and if I’m in the mood for burgers, I had to Oak & Alley to nosh on The Wild Shroom with sweet potato fries.”
Any favorite cocktails?
“The Bounty Hunter & the Dirty Martini’s at RUA are exceptional!
The Bourbon with Sage at One Ten Craft Meatery.”
Editor’s note: The Bounty Hunter is the only reason I need to go to RUA. It’s in my top five for best cocktails in Kosciusko.

A new restaurant is coming to the Martin’s complex. What would you like to see open there?
“I would love to see a really great Greek restaurant come to Warsaw! Or even a micro-brew atmosphere with amazing accompaniments.”
Editor’s note: I’ve since heard that the restaurant will not be opening in this location. Can anyone confirm?
The Buffalo St. project will include a mixed use of facility which presumably means a restaurant will be opened in that building. Is there any certain type of restaurant (Chinese, Italian, Tex-Mex, etc) that you would like to see in that space?
“Would love to see a place open up that serves and amazing breakfast and brunch option!”
What are you most proud about when it comes to the dining scene in Kosciusko County and how do you think we can continue the growth we’ve seen in recent years?
“I’m happy to live and work in a community with such camaraderie, and support small businesses that go the extra mile to set themselves apart from one another.”
