Into the Mix – Warsaw’s Asian-Cajun Restaurant

Asian-Cajun, a new restaurant in Warsaw located in the former Redwood Firewood Grill location on North Detroit St., is easing into an opening this week with a week-long soft run. The eclectic menu (click here for a draft version of it) will include seafood dishes such as fish, shrimp, lobster, seafood boils, snow crab, mussels, etc. and a variety of Thai/Cambodian/Vietnamese dishes including pad thai, pho, Korean barbecue udon noodles, spring rolls, fried rice, stir fry and much more. A wide range of veggie dishes, a kids menu and a full bar with 27 taps of beer (including six Indiana and local beers) will also be part of the restaurant’s offerings.

Asian-Cajun is from the same people behind International Foods, a small grocery store/kitchen previously located on East Winona Avenue. I used the word “previously” because the owners are closing its doors to enable them to turn their full focus on the opening of their new restaurant. As someone who has long been enamored of their pad thai, I’m looking forward to giving their new venture a try.

An official grand opening is yet to be decided but if you’re interested in trying it out before then, you can attend one of their soft opening events this week. The times aren’t posted anywhere online but you can call 574-267-2977 for details.

They’re still looking for help as well so if you’re interested, call the above number.

I’ll update this article as more information becomes available. As of now, there is no official online presence. Until then, you’ll just have to go check it out for yourself!

UPDATE
An “unofficial grand opening” that will be open to the public is scheduled for this Thursday, February 21st, from 11 am to 9 pm.
Normal operating hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11 am – 9 pm and Friday and Saturday 11 am – 10 pm. Sundays will be reserved for private events and Mondays it will be closed.
The final draft of the menu is below.
