Hogs R Wild BBQ announced on its Facebook page that it was moving into the former Chicago DogHouse location in Warsaw. Currently a food truck operation with catering services, Hogs R Wild will feature an all-BBQ menu while some variations of “dogs” might be included, according to comments on the post by Mark Poling. Further on in the comments, Poling states that while no “Chicago” dogs will be available, their bacon wrapped dogs and “whole hog” dogs will be regular everyday menu items.
The owners of Chicago DogHouse, which closed its doors at the end of September, tried to find owners to purchase the restaurant but were unsuccessful. While some may bemoan the loss of the Chicago dogs, the opportunity to have everyday access to BBQ is enticing, especially at a locally owned restaurant.
While our community’s culinary expansion has been impressive in recent years, the lack of BBQ-centric joints has been glaring. Hopefully the arrival of Hogs R Wild at a permanent location will be a harbinger of a burgeoning BBQ dining scene.
An opening date has yet to be announced but we will update this article once that date is announced.
