The Pier Restaurant, located at Oakwood Resort on Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, Indiana, will be welcoming the brand new Raw Bar to its list of offerings this summer. Known for now as the Raw Bar at the Pier Restaurant, the bar will allow guests to nosh on house-made sushi rolls, oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktails and other fish and seafood creations starting at 5 pm. I don’t really have any good reasons to explain why it took me so long to finally visit M the Market in Syracuse, Indiana. My only defense is that there are so many great places to eat in the Warsaw/Winona Lake area that I just never made it a priority.
That changed, though, once I met Jeff Moerchen at an industry rum release party (I always mention that when given the opportunity). Jeff and his sister Sara Kropf started M the Market and are the owners. Upon coming to the quick conclusion that he was a swell guy, I told him I would get up there later that week for a visit.
