Get Your Prime Rib Fill at Mentone’s Bulldog Saloon

If you are a fan of prime rib, Mentone’s Bulldog Saloon offers a deal once a month that is too good to ignore. On the first Tuesday of every month, the Bulldog features all-you-can-eat prime rib. For $20, you can eat all the prime rib you can handle along with salad, bread, baked potatoes and dipping sauces. If you have kids, there is no need to fret. While the Bulldog does have a 21 and over main bar area, there is family seating available one door over. You better make sure to get your reservations in soon, though, because seats sell out quickly!

Our reservation was at 6 and five minutes later, every seat in the family section was full. The salad bar contained your basics such as croutons, cheese and various dressings along with other sides. Au jus and horseradish were also available. The size of the cuts varied among the people at our table. No worries, though. If you received a smaller cut, you just got back in line for another serving.

The prime rib was in the medium rare range which is my preferred level. If you prefer your prime rib cooked anymore than medium (which would be a sin anyway), you might want to look elsewhere. If you like it medium or less, you will no doubt start grinning the closer you get to the cut.

The meat was seasoned well and was bound to appeal to anyone who has enjoyed prime rib anywhere else. I had no complaints and while I did not get a second serving due to the size of my original piece, others at our table happily got back into line for seconds.

We often hear the term “you get what you pay for” when it comes to buying anything that is perceived as too good to be true. In the case of the Bulldog’s all-you-can-eat prime rib, that phrase could not be further from the truth. Do yourself a favor and get there soon. Just make sure to get your reservations in sooner.
