Rua Announces Reopening

In what can only be described as the news of the year, Rua, a longtime favorite restaurant in downtown Warsaw, announced their reopening on their Facebook page. Home to one of my favorite cocktails, one of my favorite dishes and a darn good brunch, the hole in my culinary hole has been immense since they closed to in-person dining as a result of COVID. While the option for carryout existed for most of that time, a true Rua experience can only occur in person, something that will soon be a reality for its loyal customers.

In the post on its Facebook page, Rua stated that “We have been really fortunate to retain this crew (plus a few others not pictured) over the past 16 months. We snapped this photo at the end of a crazy shift on 3/20/2020, after serving takeout in a flurry of improvisation and uncertainty.

We are beyond excited to announce we are reopening soon! In order to make that a reality, we need a more staff. We will be holding open interviews (details coming soon), but please spread the word that WE ARE HIRING!

If you’d like to explore becoming a Rua employee, please email info@ruawarsaw.com and tell us your name, phone number, and what position you’re interested in. Must be willing to work weekends.”

If you are like me and want to see one of the best and most unique restaurants in Kosciusko County open their doors again to in-person dining sooner rather than later, send your friends over to them and help them get fully staffed. Having know the people who run this restaurant for awhile, I can vouch that you would be hard-pressed to find better bosses.

I’ll update this article as more details about the opening as are released. Until then, I’m going to get myself ready to enjoy a Bounty Hunter at their bar. I seriously can barely contain myself.

August 13 Update – They will be opening for brunch only for now. Seating starts this weekend with limited capacity. From their Facebook page: “We are 🎉 OPEN 🎉 for Brunch only, every Saturday & Sunday 10-2. As much as we’d like to see you all this weekend, we are seating with limited capacity – we are rusty, and want your experience to be a good one! We *strongly* recommend reservations (available online or by phone). We’ve made some changes to our menu – hello chicken & waffles – please check out our menu on our shiny new website! We can’t wait to serve you!”

October 26 Update – In a post shared to their Facebook page, Rua announced that they are starting up their dinner service again! While evening service will be offered Friday, October 29th, their normal weekly dinner hours will begin the following weekend on Friday, November 5th as they will be open every Friday and Saturday from 5-9 pm. From their Facebook page: “The wait is over! Dinner at Rua is back! 🔈 Reservations available through our website and Yelp NOW!

The only evening service this week is Friday 10/29 from 5-9. Starting November 5th, our regular dinner hours will be 5-9 every Friday & Saturday.”
